The world’s longest running communist insurgency remains strong and vibrant. Today, the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines operates in more than 100 guerrilla fronts throughout the country, building revolutionary organs of political power.

Despite the tremendous strength and popularity of the revolutionary movement in the Philippines, many international activists are still unfamiliar with this national liberation struggle and its international significance. This is why we are organizing an introductory event for everyone who is interested to learn more about the ongoing revolution in the Philippines.

As speakers we will have several consultants of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines, which is the revolutionary united front organization of which the Communist Party and its armed wing are members. The consultants will speak on the root causes of the 48-year old armed conflict, the Duterte presidency, the peace talks, the revolutionary movement’s history, its strategy and tactics, and its prospects.

After finishing the Q&A session we will serve delicious Filipino food. We will have the event at the Free University of Amsterdam (VU), upstairs in the cafeteria (main building).
