Revolutionaire Eenheid en Samidoun Nederland veroordelen ten strengste de gewelddadige ontruiming van de revolutionaire bevrijde zone op Roeterseilandcampus door de politie, aangestuurd door het UvA bestuur en Amsterdamse stadsbestuur waarbij 125 mensen gearresteerd zijn en meerdere gewond zijn geraakt. We roepen iedereen op zich aan te sluiten bij de staking en demonstratie vanmiddag om 16:00 op Roeterseilandcampus.

Terwijl studenten protesteren tegen de zionistische genocide, die op dit moment Rafah bombardeert, en UvA’s medeplichtigheid daaraan, gebruikt het universiteitsbestuur geweld om hun samenwerking met genocide apartheidsinstituten te behouden. Een zionistische bende van ongeveer tien personen viel het kamp aan, gooide vuurwerk naar mensen en sloeg demonstranten. Terwijl het universiteitsbestuur en de politie toekeken, verdedigde de studenten zichzelf en herstelde vrede in het kamp.

De studenten, samen met docenten, professors, medewerkers en supporters, hebben grote overwinningen geboekt in de afgelopen 24 uur:

1. De UvA heeft gisteren hun banden met Israëlische instellingen gepubliceerd, nadat ze dit maandenlang illegaal hebben geweigerd. Dat was de eerste eis van de studenten. Eén van de onderzoeksprojecten gaat over het opsporen van explosieven en draagt direct bij aan het instandhouden van de genocide apartheidsstaat. Dit bewijst: de UvA is medeplichtig aan Israëlische genocide en bezetting van Palestina.
2. De studenten hebben ruim twaalf uur een deel van hun campus bevrijd en navolging gegeven aan de “popular universities” in Palestina.
3. De moed en standvastigheid van de studenten in Amsterdam gaat de hele wereld over en wordt ook in Palestina op de voet gevolgd. Dit is een globale Intifada waarbij studenten van Turtle Island tot Mexico tot Marokko en Europa aan de frontlinie staan, samen met het Palestijnse volk en het Palestijnse verzet.
4. Terwijl de UvA en Amsterdamse gemeente studenten en docenten door de politie in elkaar laten slaan, aanvallen met honden, bulldozers en verblindend schuim, is de onderlinge solidariteit alleen maar versterkt. Van het kamp tot in de bus was, en is, de moraal hoog.

Revolutionaire Eenheid en Samidoun roepen alle studenten, jongeren en supporters op om de strijd voor Palestina te escaleren. De strijd om alle steun aan Israël te beëindigen gaat door totdat Palestina vrij is van de rivier tot aan de zee.

Victory despite repression: students at the frontline of the global intifada

Revolutionary Unity and Samidoun Netherlands strongly condemn the violent eviction of the revolutionary liberated zone on Roeterseiland campus by the police, led by the UvA board and Amsterdam city council, leading to the arrest of 125 people and injuring multiple. We call on everyone to join the strike and demonstration this afternoon at 4:00 PM on Roeterseiland Campus.

While students protest against the Zionist genocide, which is currently bombing Rafah, and UvA’s complicity in it, the university administration uses violence to maintain their cooperation with genocidal apartheid institutions. A Zionist mob attacked the camp, throwing fireworks at people and beating protestors. While the university and police stood idle, students defended themselves and restored peace in the camp.

The students, along with teachers, professors, staff and supporters, have achieved major victories in the past 24 hours:

1. The UvA yesterday published their ties with Israeli institutions, after illegally refusing to do so for months. That was the students’ first demand. One of the research projects concerns the detection of explosives and directly contributes to the maintenance of the genocidal apartheid state. This proves: the UvA is complicit in the Israeli genocide and occupation of Palestine.
2. The students liberated part of their campus for more than twelve hours and followed the “popular universities” in Palestine.
3. The courage and steadfastness of the students in Amsterdam has spread all over the world and is also closely followed in Palestine. This is a global Intifada with students from Turtle Island to Mexico to Morocco and Europe on the front lines, side-by-side with the Palestinian people and the Palestinian resistance.
4. While the UvA and Amsterdam municipality have students and teachers beaten up by the police, attacked with dogs, bulldozers and blinding foam, mutual solidarity has only been strengthened. From the camp to the bus, morale was, and is, high.

Revolutionaire Eenheid and Samidoun call on all students, youth and supporters to escalate the struggle for Palestine. The struggle to end all support for Israel continues until Palestine is free from the river to the sea.
